She was the daughter of Malcolm III/Máel Coluim mac Donnchada King of Scotland and Saint Maragaret of Scotland, daughter of Edward the Exile and granddaughter of Edmund Ironside King of England.

She 2 children:
1. Matilda, Queen of England (7 Feb 1102 – 10 Sep 1167) 1st married Henry V Holy Roman Emperor, no issue, married 2nd Geoffrey V Count of Anjoy 3 sons
2. William Adelin (5 Aug 1103 – 25 Nov 1120) died from drowning when his ship wrecked., married Matilda of Anjou, sis to Geoffrey V.

Her marriage brought the bloodline of the early english kings back into the royal family.

She became known by her subjects as “Matilda the Good Queen” and “Matilda of Blessed Memory”. She acted as regent when Henry was away and she took an interest in architecture and had many Norman style buildings built including Waltham Abby and a lepper hospital.

She is the mother of Empress Matilda.

She was the only one of Henry's wives to have legitmate children with him. Her husband had mistress and had children with 7 of them siring over 20 illegitmate children.
